Business Grants

PAGE LAST UPDATED: 8 April 2021

Government is continually updating grant schemes to support businesses required to close or that have been severely affected due to Covid-19.

These programmes are being administered locally by InvestSK on behalf of South Kesteven District Council and this page will be updated with the latest information.

RESTART GRANT

To support the recovery of our economy, and as national trading restrictions are relaxed, the Chancellor has announced the one-off ‘Restart Grant’ payment.

This grant replaces the Local Restrictions Support Grants from April 2021 onwards (for eligible businesses).

We’ve recently received guidance from Government about the Restart Grant and it will be made available to qualifying (rated) non-essential retail, hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym businesses.

If your business is rated and has received Government support grants since November 2020 then you’re likely to be eligible for the Restart Grant and will not need to make a new application.

If your business is rated and has not received these LRSG grants but you believe you’re eligible, you’ll be required to complete an application form which will be available in April.

We’re still waiting to hear when in April we’ll receive our ‘restart grant’ funding but Government has confirmed no payments can be made prior to 1 April 2021.

Local authorities have been encouraged by Government to use their discretionary funding to support businesses in those sectors that may have been severely impacted by restrictions but are not eligible for the Restart Grant scheme. Further details and the application process will be available in early April.

Once in receipt of our funding allocation, we’ll publish the relevant guidance and application form for those not automatically receiving payment on this website.

The details of the Restart Grant are as follows:

– Non-essential retail businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or less, will receive a one-off grant of £2,667

– Non-essential retail businesses with a rateable value over £15,000 and less than £51,000, will receive a one-off grant of £4,000

– Non-essential retail businesses with a rateable value of £51,000 or above, will receive a one-off grant of £6,000

– Qualifying hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym business properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or less, will receive a one-off grant of £8,000

– Qualifying hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym business properties with a rateable value over £15,000 and less than £51,000, will receive a one-off grant of £12,000

– Qualifying hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym business properties with a rateable value of £51,000 or above, will receive a one-off grant of £18,000
