Inaugural Business Breakfast and new heritage website to showcase South Kesteven’s strengths

InvestSK, the team charged by South Kesteven District Council to lead the area’s ambitious growth plans, held its inaugural business breakfast at Easton Walled Gardens on Tuesday this week. Attended by almost 70 delegates, the event provided insights into the area’s economic strengths and opportunities, as well as practical guidance for companies on key issues around cyber security and access to finance.

Importantly the event also marked the publication of a new Business Showcase book – created by InvestSK to celebrate the area’s business capabilities and promote South Kesteven to new inward investors as a great place to do business. Companies included in the book include global leaders to local SMEs, innovators to designers and family businesses to financers.

Launching the Business Showcase at the InvestSK Business Breakfast, Cllr Matthew Lee, Leader of South Kesteven District Council, said: “A key part of InvestSK’s role is to champion South Kesteven as a great place to live, work and invest. And what better way to do this than to celebrate some of the excellent companies that call South Kesteven home?

“The case studies in this book demonstrate what an economic powerhouse South Kesteven is: showcasing businesses of all shapes and sizes, that are reaching out across the globe, or shaping our world closer to home.”

The Business Breakfast also saw the launch of a new InvestSK website,, which celebrates the region’s rich, diverse and abundant heritage. The site is designed as a platform to share guidance for heritage and other organisations, and as a forum for residents, heritage attractions and others to share their images, post volunteering opportunities and upload their events. Like the Business Showcase, it’s another great way of celebrating everything that makes people proud of South Kesteven.

Steve Bowyer, strategic lead at InvestSK, said: “We were thrilled with the response we received from local companies that attended our first Business Breakfast. We’ll be holding these events on a quarterly basis to encourage knowledge sharing, networking and provide an update on the area’s economic growth and latest developments from InvestSK. We’ve always been really impressed with the local business clubs – they’re really vibrant forums for business engagement – and we want these breakfasts to support those clubs and complement them with wider strategic business opportunities.
