Restart Scheme Offers New Opportunities for Job Seekers and Employers

As part of the Government’s Plan for Jobs, the Restart Scheme is designed to help Universal Credit claimants who have been out of work for between 12 – 18 months to move back into meaningful employment. It is also offering help to anyone whose working status has been directly affected by the coronavirus pandemic. The scheme also offers help for businesses looking to employ new employees. Referrals will be made over a 3-year period and the Restart Scheme will benefit more than 1 million Universal Credit claimants who are expected to look for and be available for work but have no sustained earnings. The scheme will provide up to 12 months of tailored support for each participant.

InvestSK is working with Jobs22, the official delivery partners for the Department of Work and Pensions, to support individuals to get back into work and assisting them with their training requirements. Jobs22 will be working closely with local employers, supporting any of their needs, and identifying areas where participants may need to develop skills in order to be successful.
